Broadcasting radio and tv stations in Arlington, Texas

Arlington is the seventh largest city in Texas — with 380,000 residents — and the third largest municipality in the Dallas-Ft. Worth “Metroplex” — a title designated by the U.S. Census in 2003 that encompasses 12-counties within North Texas.

Arlington is located 12-miles east of Fort Worth and 20-miles west of Dallas, and is widely known for the professional sports teams the Texas Rangers (MLB) and the Dallas Cowboys (NFL). Arlington is also home of the theme park Six Flags Over Texas — which is the original Six Flags.

Due to the location of Arlington within the Dallas-Ft. Worth “Metroplex,” the city received most of their television and radio broadcasts from television affiliates in the Dallas-Ft. Worth city limits. The Dallas-Ft. Worth “Metroplex” has the fifth largest number of television households within the United States, with 2,544,410 “TV Homes” according to the Nielson Media Local Market Estimates of 2010.

Arlington receives broadcasts from the following television affiliates from Dallas-Ft. Worth: KDTN-TV DayStar Television Network, KDFW-TV FOX, KXAS-TV NBC, KTVT-TV CBS, KERA-TV PBS, KTXA-TV CBS, KDAF CW, and KDTX TBN.

Arlington receives broadcasting signals from numerous radio stations from regional cities such as Dallas-Ft. Worth, but only has one radio station that broadcasts within the Arlington city limits. That station is KLTY 94.9 FM — a Christian Contemporary station.
